On May 11, 2020, members of our parish staff and one of our parish families, the Ayoubs, worked together to honor the Blessed Virgin for Mother's Day by creating an outdoor rosary for parishioners and our neighbors to enjoy. This was an incredible labor of love which took from early morning to late afternoon to complete. We are extremely grateful to the Ayoubs and our Coordinator for Religious Education, Sally Rico, for this incredible gift to the parish which was digitally captured for posterity by Mrs. Rico and Rez LaBoy, who is a recreational drone photographer.
We remind everyone that the State of Maryland is still under a Stay-at-Home Order. However, if you are within walking distance of the parish, you may wish to visit, pray, and reflect while outdoors exercising and enjoying the fresh air. Keep an eye to our Facebook page and our website for information on the gradual reopening of the State and how the Archdiocese of Baltimore and St. Lawrence will respond.
May Our Lady keep you all under her maternal mantle of love and protection now and for ever.
Outward Signs While Staying In: May 2020 - Mary's Month
Remember what we did as a parish for Palm Sunday and Easter Week? Let's do it again all throughout May - let's show our friends and neighbors outward signs of our love for Mary, our mother. We don't have to have a formal May Procession at church to celebrate the Mother of God!
Take a photo of how you are honoring the Blessed Virgin this month - crown a yard statute if you have one; draw a rosary in your driveway or on your sidewalk like the Ayoub Family did in the circle at the parish; put an image of her in your window - whatever you can do as an outward sign of affection for her. Then, send your photos to office@saintlawrencemartyr.org, or text pics to our Facebook volunteer at 443-784-2212. To get us started, the pic below is of an outward sign of love for our Blessed Mother on Fort Meade!
All photos received will be posted here and on our Facebook page for everyone to enjoy together while we're still apart.
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
