The Rev. Thomas L. Farrell was appointed pastor of St. Lawrence at Jessup on June 23, 1956.
The soft-spoken, tremendously energetic priest was a lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve and a combat veteran of World War II. He served as an Army chaplain in the North African and Italian campaign and won seven battle starts.
Fr. Farrell was born in Washington DC April 20, 1909. He attended St. Charles College, Catonsville, and was graduated from Georgetown University in 1931 where he played baseball and football.
After Georgetown, he entered St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore, and was ordained June 11, 1939 by the late Archbishop Curley.
He passed away March 10, 1960.
